NATA Convention

Hi Everyone!
I just wanted to thank all of the students who attended the NATA Convention in St. Louis last week! I know I had a lot of fun and met a lot of great new friends. I hope everyone had as much fun and learned as much as I did!
Enjoy your summer!

NATA Student Sessions - Do you want to be a moderator?

If you are planning to attend the NATA meeting, specifically the student sessions on Wednesday morning and would like to be a 'moderator' for one of the breakout sessions, please send me an email - robin-ploeger@utulsa.edu.

Each year we have students be the moderator for the breakout sessions and since the meeting in is District 5 this year, I'd like to have students from this district get involved. This is open to all students not just those on the SLC. Your responsibilities would be to introduce the speaker (bio will be provided to you), ask for questions at the end of the presentation, then thank the speaker/present speaker's gift.

I hope to see a lot of you in St. Louis.

Hey there Randyl, hows it

Hey there Randyl, hows it going, yeah i am planning on going to the national conference. I heard they are a lot of fun. So are you about ready to be done with school. You have big plans for the summer? So are you going to the national conference. Well hope school is going good and good luck on your finals.

National Conference

Good to hear from you again, Eric!
Yes, I will be attending the National Conference in St. Louis. It will be my first National Conference, so I am really excited. I have also heard that they are a lot of fun!
I just finished up my finals this week, and I'm glad to have a little bit of a break! How about you?
Good luck on your finals and I can't wait to catch up with you in St. Louis!

Idea

I heard some people talking about the student social we had and they felt as though they did not get much out of it. To begin, some think that the reason "ATC's don't ttreat student the same way they treat other ATC's is because sometimes we do not act like adults and we sometime end up looking like children."

One way that we may be able to change this is by allowing students to speak to other students at the social without being forced to communicate through games...the SLC may be able to find a fun way to "break the ice" and get students talking. They may just need more time to talk to people.

Also another suggestion that was brought up to me was having round table chats with commitee members of the district and state boards and also Hall of fame members from our district.

These are just a few comments that were thrown my way and I thought this might get people talking and utilizing this new chat room for Athletic Training Students!

Good Luck with any classes and Finals you all have left! Summer is almost here...hang in there!

Welcome

Welcome to the MAATA Student Section. As stated by the other representatives we are looking to improve student involvment at the district meeting next year. To do this we need feedback from you, the students, on what you liked, didn't like, or would like to see in Omaha next year. We have some great ideas already on things to offer, but we want your input! Please contact your state representative with any ideas. I hope everyone finishes the semester in one piece and enjoys their summer break.

Student Involvement within MAATA

Hello Students,

I'm Sam Wilkins, the Missouri Student Representative to MAATA. We as a committee met last weekend at the District V conference trying to figure out how we can increase the student involvement within District V and at the national level as well. We all came to a consensus that better communication is needed throughout the different states within the district. I look foward to meeting a lot of students and working with students to increase student involvement and representation at the state, district and national levels. Hope everyone finishes out the semester with a bang and is looking forward to summer vacation!

Welcome to the future of Athletic Training

Hey all! I also wanted to welcome you all to the student section of the District V website. I am the Representative from Nebraska and I am representing you! We all want to make get students involved...we are the future and someday we will be running the show. The earlier we get involved the easier it will be in the future! Also we want to hear from you! How can we make things better to get you involved? We are a new group and we will take anything you are willing to offer as suggestions!

We are here to speak for you so if there is anything that we can do to make you get involved let us know!

The Future of MAATA

Hello everyone. My name is Johnathon Blake, and I am the Kansas representative for District V. As many of my fellow delegates have stated, we want to hear if you have any comments, questions, or suggestions concerning the conventions or MAATA in general. I know that all seven of us delegates will be working hard for you. So please, get involved and get others involved as well because the future of MAATA depends on all of us. Thanks.

Whats up everyone, the conference was great, where are those pics from the student reception at. Anyone have a idea how to find them let me know thanks.

Pictures

Hi Eric!
Great to hear from you. I'm glad that you enjoyed the conference!
There has only been one picture posted so far, the group picture. If you go to the MAATA homepage (just click "Home" in the top left corner) there will be a link on the homepage entitled "Student Reception." You can find the picture here. I will contact the appropriate people and work on getting the pictures of the individual states up here as well. Hope your school year is ending nicely!
Will you be in St. Louis? Hope to see you there!
